Fourth Of July 2006.

From a friend's backyard, we got together and set off fireworks to celebrate the holiday. The thing about this that makes these images different, however, is the fact that these will, more than likely, be the last set off from this backyard again.

Due to some construction in the area, the house in which we were spending time may not even be standing by next year, so to “get back” at the city for basically ruining the neighborhood, a friend's dad took his fireworks, his blow torch, and set up a make-shift firing range in the newly constructed parking lot that was once their backyard. By use of flashlight, each fuse was lit, and the sky was filled with bright colors. Even though we did not win the, later created, blast war that occurred between three houses between two streets, Papa Briggs had at least one more “blaze of glory” moment in his backyard.
